James Frowen

BA (Hons) LM (First Class), MBA, CMgr FCMI

James is a Deputy Director in the Civil Service, overseeing a  multi £bn portfolio. With over 20 years in public sector leadership and specialities in operations, change and transformation, he co-founded Aspiration Experts Limited in 2025.  With a First-Class Honours degree in Leadership and Management and a Masters in Business Administration, James is a Fellow Chartered Manager (CMgr FCMI).  He has recently furthered his executive development by completing the Project Leadership Programme (PLP) at Cranfield University​

James has more than a decade of coaching experience, holding ILM Level 5 in Coaching & Mentoring and ILM Level 7 Executive Coaching. His expertise has been recognised with accolades, including a finalist spot in CIPD's Best Coaching and Mentoring Initiative (2018) and leading a team that won the Advancing the Profession Award (2023) at the Government Project Delivery Awards.

James' coaching approach is dynamic, supportive, and innovative. By integrating psychometric assessments, he helps clients achieve moments of profound self-discovery and clarity. Committed to ethical excellence, he adheres to the highest standards set by the AC and EMCC. Understanding the importance of strong professional connections, James offers a complimentary chemistry session to ensure alignment and comfort for both parties.

Beyond coaching, James provides consultancy services, specialising in operations, change management and leadership.
